Experience

Roy began his career with White Weld & Co. in 1971 as a financial advisor in their Dallas office and later with Bache & Co., where he transitioned his practice to investment management consulting, exclusively.  Over that time, the firm changed names a number of times from Prudential Bache, to Wachovia Securities to the current name, Wells Fargo Advisors.

 

Roy has served on the firm’s Senior Consulting Council as well as the 401(k) Consulting Committee.  In 2011, Mr. Browning was appointed on the eleven-member Advisory Committee of the Texas Permanent Tobacco Settlement Trust Account, and served for seven years.  This is a multi-billion dollar fund held in trust to provide local health departments and hospital districts payments from the state’s tobacco settlement.

 

The Alpha Consulting Group of Wells Fargo Advisors was formed in 1999 by Roy and his associate Kelly Bevis, Senior Vice President-Investment Officer, and Senior Institutional Consultant.  As a team of dedicated investment management consultants, Alpha provides third-party, objective, investment advice to clients in the eastern half of the country.  Alpha serves municipal retirement funds, corporately-sponsored ERISA funds, charitable foundations, and college endowment funds. 

 

Roy graduated in 1964 with a B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University, and later earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Investment Management Consultants Association.

 

Community and Family

Roy was born in Fort Worth, Texas and has lived in the “Panther City,” all his life.  Roy married Jaye. S. Browning in 1974 and they have two children, a son, Reagan and a daughter, Raleigh.  He has served on the Board of the Fort Worth Club, the Edna Gladney Center, the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art, and the Fort Worth Symphony.

Experience

Even in college at the University of Alabama, Kelly knew she wanted to work in the investment business.  She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1994.

Kelly began her career in 1994 with Fidelity Investments where she received a great foundation of training.  She joined Prudential Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors in 1995 to begin her career as a Financial Advisor.

 

In April of 1999, Kelly joined forces with Roy Browning, Senior Vice President-Investment Officer and Senior Institutional Consultant, to form the Alpha Consulting Group of Wells Fargo Advisors.  In August of 2000, Kelly earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation through the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. This program is offered through the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) which Kelly has been a member of for over 15 years.  Kelly has also earned her Certified 401(k) Professionals Designation from the Retirement Advisor University in collaboration with the UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education.  She is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary.

 

Community and Family

Kelly believes education is critical for a child’s success.  That is why Kelly is a loyal volunteer for United Community Centers (UCC) in Fort Worth. UCC provides after school childcare and literacy programs in lower income neighborhoods.  Kelly and her daughters enjoy volunteering in the community though the National Charity League of Fort Worth where Kelly serves as Treasurer.     

 

In her free time, Kelly enjoys traveling, exercising and spending time with family and friends.  Kelly and her husband, Prichard, have been married for almost 20 years and they have two beautiful daughters, Lindsey and Meredith.

With extensive experience throughout major shifts in the markets, Stephen has dedicated his career to delivering the personalized investment planning services his clients deserve.

 

Stephen’s career began as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch, where he developed his fundamental investment knowledge.  In 2001, he joined First Union Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, where he recognized the client benefits from a team approach to provide personalized financial advice for individuals and families.   As a member of the Alpha Consultant Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Stephen seeks to educate our clients using his depth of knowledge from years of experience with wealth management services. 

 

In 2004, Stephen earned an Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University, in 2012 earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and in 2018 earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute through the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.

 

Community and Family

Stephen resides in North Richland Hills with his wife of 30 years, Kristin. They have two adult children, one married and one in college.  Stephen and Kristin serve in their community through their church, schools and their neighborhood.  Stephen’s community involvement includes former Executive Officer responsibilities for the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce as Vice Chair of Economic Development and Vice Chair of Membership, one-on-one mentoring and serving in the student ministry at his church.  Stephen and Kristin also volunteer many hours to the Birdville ISD, another way to invest time in their community’s future. Recreationally, as a multi-Ironman finisher, in his free time, he finds himself preparing and training for his next events.
