Purpose
My greatest passion is working with and helping families with special needs children, or adults, as they often have questions surrounding life management concerns regarding proper care and planning for loved ones living with disabilities.
Living with a family member requiring special care can often create a significant financial burden due to a family caregiver’s curtailed earnings power. I have learned that depending on personal and family circumstances, individuals living with disabilities may often require specialized support beyond those provided by government benefits. Working to help these exceptional families uncover a means to ensure supplemental care for their loved ones can be provided is one of the most satisfying accomplishments in my life.
Focus
Leveraging the intellectual capital found throughout Wells Fargo Advisors, I adhere to a disciplined planning methodology to deliver investment and risk management strategies designed to help protect and preserve client wealth. This three-part process begins with a comprehensive discovery phase that ultimately leads to an investment plan complete with a customized client implementation and review strategy. My goal is to provide client value by integrating nine distinct wealth management disciplines that I have developed thru the years to help deliver a reliable, consistent and a yet personalized client experience.
Background and experience
Drawing on my experience as a Professional Engineer and former Fortune 500 executive, I employ my skill set to help clients understand the challenges faced in managing prosperity given today’s ever changing global economic environment and world financial markets. I have been delivering these personalized strategies and comprehensive wealth management services to a select group of clients, including those families with members of special needs, for almost three decades.
In addition to providing wealth management services, I also provide oversight and guidance to business owners, corporations, non-profit organizations and foundations in a multitude of areas including helping one of their most important assets, their employees, prepare for retirement.
Away from the office
Within our community, I have been a long standing Rotarian with current membership in the Rotary Club of Orlando where I am past Chairman and current member of their Foundation’s Investment Committee. I am also a past Board member of the Rotary Club of Winter Park, and past Chairman of the Board of Habitat for Humanity in Seminole County, Florida. I remain an active member of the Bahia Shrine Center where I help with their fundraising efforts on behalf of the Shriners Hospitals for Children®.
In our spare time, my wife Jane and I love traveling along with enjoying the challenges of playing golf when time allows. In addition, we enjoy all aspects of physical fitness including working out, long walks and in Jane’s case, water aerobics. We also appreciate having family nearby which allows us to spend time with the light of our lives, our four grandchildren, as much as we can.
Education
I graduated from the University of New Brunswick with an Engineering (B.S. Eng.) degree in 1978 and earned my Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business in 1990. In 2003, I also completed a financial industry comprehensive advanced study program to obtain the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation from the American College of Financial Services.
