Jim’s, George’s, and Kiefer’s Credentials

Our team is led by Jim Yarbrough and George Howell, two talented and credentialed wealth management professionals dedicated to serving the needs of a variety of clients with unique needs and goals. Below is an overview of the credentials Jim and George hold:

Private Investment Manager (PIM)

As a PIM Portfolio Manager, Jim Yarbrough offers customized investment portfolios geared toward clients’ specific investment goals. Wells Fargo Advisors’ PIM Portfolio Managers must meet eligibility requirements which include a minimum of two years of experience as a portfolio manager, five years of industry experience, and successful completion of stringent securities exams. Jim completed advanced training, including an ethics exam, proxy exam and a 40-hour portfolio management training course.

Less than 10 percent of the firm’s Financial Advisors have met the criteria to act as PIM Portfolio Managers.

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation

George Howell believes investors need a standard with which to evaluate the knowledge, integrity, and professionalism of the individuals whom they trust to manage their financial assets. That standard is the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The CFA Charter requires its candidates to master a rigorous curriculum that covers a broad range of investment-related subject areas such as investment valuation, portfolio management, and asset allocation. Candidates must then demonstrate their ability to apply this knowledge to practical situations by passing three six-hour examinations.

Fewer than 1 in 5 candidates becomes a CFA Charterholder. It takes an average of over 1,000 hours of rigorous study along with four years of professional experience to earn the distinction of being called a CFA Charterholder.**

*The PIM program may not be suitable for all investors. Please carefully review the Wells Fargo Advisors advisory disclosure document for a full description of our services. The minimum account size for this program is $50,000.
