Redefining Retirement

Traditional retirement planning focuses on securing a stream of income enabling people to enjoy retirement without the worry of ever exhausting their financial resources.   However, money is not the only asset which receives our focus.  There is another asset that deserves great attention – it is extremely precious, it is abundant and then it is not, and too often it takes a backseat to money, when it should be riding side-by-side. We are referring to, of course, to time.

Retirement is one of life’s great transitions and today it spans a longer period than any generation has ever experienced.  We believe to derive the most from this experience requires prudent investment and wealth planning that is enmeshed with each Client’s retirement life plan.

Planning and managing your time goes together with planning and managing your money.  Retired doesn’t mean you’re expired.  Perhaps you want to work, want to try something new.  What will that look like?  Maybe work will take the form of volunteerism, contributing a few hours a week, or going all-in pursing a heart-stirring cause?  How and where and with whom will you spend your leisure time?  Where will you live; where would you like to live; where should you live?

How will you guard and protect your health?  They say there are only four types of people in the world:  People who have been caretakers; People who will be caretakers; People who are caretakers; and People who will need caretakers.  Which one are you?  Estate planning is typically associated with transferring assets to our beneficiaries, but you also have an opportunity to influence loved ones by passing on your values. How can you best accomplish that?

And just like an investment portfolio that is reallocated or rebalanced over time; you will be reallocating and rebalancing the way you spend and enjoy your time.  We will be there for our Clients throughout their great retirement journey at the confluence of money well-earned and time to be wisely spent.
